It is with great pleasure to announce that our Chief Executive Officer, Jeffrey Lipson, has been selected to serve on the Penn State University Great Valley Board of Directors.

An alumnus himself, Jeff has always emulated the mission objectives of the school; to be innovative, technologically progressive and a lifelong learner. As the CEO of Layer 8 Security and a retired Colonel of Marines, he has promoted these objectives his entire career.

“Locally the need to recruit, train and retain top tech talent is paramount with the large scale of biotechnology and fintech firms headquartered in the area,” stated Jeff Lipson. “At Layer 8 Security we see the needs arise for cybersecurity certainly, but also our clients need developers, engineers, data analytics, and financial management and accounting management. We need to grow and scale these fields right here to support the burgeoning industry tech start-ups and disruptors calling Great Valley home.”

Jeff and his family have supported Penn State at multiple campuses over the years including standing up the Layer 8 Security scholarship program to support these exact needs. Having long been a proponent of furthering educational opportunities for all, he has also been proactive in the Blue and White Scholarship at Villanova, a member of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, as well as supporting Folds of Honor, which creates scholarships for the kin of fallen or severely injured service members.
