MALVERN, PA (September 16, 2024) – Layer 8 Security President and co-founder, Kevin Hyde, is being recognized as one of the six Man & Woman of the Year Honorees for his professional and public service accomplishments in Jerseyman & Phillyman’s 9th Annual Unmasking. This masquerade event is the magazine’s only event open to the public to ‘party for a cause.’ Buying a ticket for this event will support one vote for both Kevin and his cause.

Kevin is supporting The Tun Tavern Legacy Foundation, a nonprofit with the mission to rebuild and re-establish The Tun™ as the functioning mariner’s establishment it once was to support veteran and patriotic organizations in Old City Philadelphia. It also was the historic birthplace of the U.S. Marine Corps.

“As a retired Marine, I feel a personal connection to reestablishing this important part of national history,” stated Kevin. “As Marines we are imbued with our historical roots from day one of taking the oath. We appreciate and learn from history and The Tun will be back as a place not only Marines, but many other patriotic organizations, can once again call our birthplace and home. Contributing to rebuilding the Tun today as a location for education and camaraderie will be an honor.”

The Tun™ will be a gathering place for veteran support organizations, hosting educational experiences including exhibits, historic documents and special events, while serving period correct fare. All operational profits from The Tun™ establishment will be donated to support veteran causes, Masonic charities, scholarships, and other qualified charities.

The Tun Tavern Legacy Foundation includes members of the United States Marine Corps, Pennsylvania Freemasons, St. Andrew’s Society, Society of St. George, the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, and the United States Navy.
