Week 1 – Every Day Steps Towards Online Safety with Stop. Think. Connect.™
Our National Cybersecurity Awareness Month series has begun and Week 1 is upon us. This week, the Department of Homeland Security is proffering their Stop. Think. Connect. campaign aimed at increasing the understanding of cyber threats and empowering the American public to be safer and more secure online. The goal we want to drive home is the cybersecurity is a shared responsibility; the more vigilant each one of us is individually, the stronger we are collectively. When we all employ simple steps toward our day-to-day Internet use (referred to as good cyber hygiene) the Internet is safer for everyone.
Last week, we released our white paper, “A Guide to Good Family Cybersecurity” which can be found and downloaded for free on our website Case Studies. The white paper focuses squarely on the simple steps individuals and families can, should, and must do to protect their personal information. Using the ideas presented will be a significant step forward.
In addition to visiting our website and reading the white paper, please visit the Department of Homeland Security’s website https://www.dhs.gov/stopthinkconnect for links, videos, and promotional materials to help bring this important issue to top-of-mind status.
